Alert: Parents & Guardians, The McCreary County School District will dismiss three (3) hours early on Tuesday, December 19th to start Christmas Break. The district has built up several additional instructional hours that have been allocated for early release days and/or delays. Our students have worked extremely hard over the last few months and are very deserving of the time to relax and enjoy their families during this special season. Again, school will dismiss three (3) hours early on Tuesday, December 19th. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Respectfully, Michael M. Cash Superintendent, McCreary County School District

Rewards Program

Have the courage to dream big and the tenacity to achieve.

The McCreary County Rewards  Committee was formed several years ago to begin work on a  program that would allow our students to receive rewards for working hard in school.  The program was presented and approved by the Board of  Education in 2003.

The McCreary County Rewards Program allows our students to earn points each school year for maintaining good grades, attendance and behavior.  One student from each grade level at each school will be chosen to receive a reward amount from $100.00 up to $1200.00 that will be kept in an account for that child until he or she graduates from high school. This money will then be given to the student to pursue higher education or even entrepreneurship.

If you are interested in learning more about our Rewards Program, you may call your child's school or talk to your child's teacher. You may also contact the McCreary County Board of Education at (606) 376-2591.
